Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly and renowned entrepreneur Loïc Féry have taken a bold step into the world of professional padel by becoming the new owners of 10 Padel, the eighth and final team confirmed for the 2025 edition of the world’s most famous professional padel competition, the Hexagon Cup. Set to take place from January 29 to February 2 at the Madrid Arena, the second edition of the tournament features an expanded roster of eight teams, up from six in its inaugural year.

Pierre Gasly, a 28-year-old driver for the BWT Alpine Formula 1 team, is known for his competitive edge, having participated in over 150 Grand Prix races and achieving his first victory at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix. In addition to this, Gasly is also one of the latest growing band of F1 stars passionate about padel – other drivers seen playing include Max Verstappen, George Russell and Fernando Alonso – and someone who recognizes the potential the growing sport possesses in becoming a global phenomenon.

“I’m thrilled and excited to take this first step into the padel world by creating our professional team, 10 Padel,” Gasly stated yesterday. “I love this sport, which shares the same competitive spirit and passion that drives me on the Formula 1 circuits.”

Joining Gasly is Loïc Féry, a successful French entrepreneur and current president of the French football club, FC Lorient. Féry, who has been an avid padel and tennis player for many years, discussed how their collaboration came to fruition after playing padel together following the Miami Grand Prix. “Since then, we have both nurtured the desire to partner with ambition in the padel world and we finally agreed to become the owners of the 8th franchise of Hexagon Cup,” explained Féry. He would go on to further emphasize their ambition to make a mark on the sport, saying, “We see a unique opportunity to build a team that stands out both on and off the court.”

The Hexagon Cup has rapidly grown to become one of the premier events in the professional padel world, with other celebrity owners such as Eva Longoria, Leo Messi and Robert Lewandowski also assembling teams for the competition. Divided into male, female, and Next Gen categories, the world’s best padel players will compete in teams led by these prominent figures.

“It was essential for us to have a team owned by two French personalities,” exclaimed Enrique Buenaventura, Founder of the Hexagon Cup. Buenaventura shared his enthusiasm regarding the new opportunities to promote the sport in regions like France that come with the inclusion of Gasly and Féry’s team. Their support for the Hexagon Cup and Padel along with the other team owners, is another major milestone in the sport’s journey to becoming a mighty force in the international sports scene.
